Yelburga: End Malnutrition Initiative (EMI) – a novel public health concept to reduce the burden of Malnutrition was introduced by the Edward & Cynthia Institute of Public Health (ECIPH) – a unit of CHD Group & Advanced Technical Co-operation Center with Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
This initiative was piloted from a public health standpoint and implemented as a social responsibility programme in Yelburga Taluk of Koppal District in Karnataka state.

ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಎಡ್ವರ್ಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಂಥಿಯಾ ಇನ್‌ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ಹೆಲ್ತ್‌ ನಿಂದ (ECIPH)) (ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಸಿಎಚ್‌ಡಿ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಧಾರಿತ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಹಕಾರ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಒಂದು ಘಟಕ) ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ
ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಯಲಬುರ್ಗಾ ತಾಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ಅಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆಗೊಳಿಸುವಮತ್ತು ಮಧ್ಯಮ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕತೆಯ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಡುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.
